Database Architect Subject Matter Expert (Financial Data)

Location: Dayton, Ohio, United States. Work location may change based on client requirements. The role requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.

Salary: $80,000–$140,000 per year, plus potential overtime pay, benefits, and bonuses.

What you will do

• Design and maintain database architectures for extracting, storing, and analyzing financial data from Sub-Ledger and General Ledger systems.
• Develop data models, extraction processes, transformations, and normalization logic for reconciliation and cross-system comparison.
• Build automated or semi-automated tools, queries, views, and scripts to identify discrepancies, variances, and anomalies.
• Implement validation and reconciliation controls, including drill-down capabilities to source transactions.
• Document database structures, mappings, assumptions, transformation logic, and comparison methodologies.
• Support auditors and financial analysts with data extracts, comparison results, testing, and technical explanations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 4 years of experience designing and managing databases for financial or audit-related analytics.
• Strong SQL skills and knowledge of database architecture principles.
• Experience extracting, transforming, and reconciling data across multiple systems.
• Familiarity with financial systems, Sub-Ledger, and General Ledger structures.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree and experience in regulated or audited financial environments.
• Experience supporting financial audits, audit-readiness initiatives, or large enterprise financial systems such as ERP environments and DEAMS.
• Experience with regulated, secure, Department of Defense, or federal agency environments.
• Knowledge of Air Force financial and logistics systems, accounting principles, Lines of Accounting, and related financial data elements.
