Analysis Engineer (Structural)

Location: Plainfield, Illinois, United States; may be temporarily assigned to project sites.

Salary: $88,471–$110,589 annually.

What you will do

• Perform or check design and analysis deliverables for plate structures, including tanks, vessels, structures, modules, foundations, and site facilities.
• Perform finite element analysis of plate steel and concrete structures for static, thermal, and dynamic load combinations.
• Prepare analysis reports communicating methods and results to internal design groups and external clients.
• Produce and check design calculations, specifications, layouts, construction documents, and other project deliverables in accordance with applicable codes, company standards, and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with design groups and project teams to establish requirements, analysis methods, design loads, deliverables, schedules, and discrepancies.
• Support safe, constructible field erection and use; obtain or use a professional engineering license and approve or stamp deliverables where required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related degree, from an accredited school.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience; 3+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience is required for local requirements.
• Experience designing structural structures and connections.
• Strong understanding of AISC, ASCE 7, IBC, and associated structural and seismic codes.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and technical writing ability.
• Ability to produce, check, and sign off calculations, specifications, reports, and other deliverables accurately while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to coordinate with project engineers, managers, designers, and other functions; use document-management systems and collaboration/productivity tools.
• Ability to comply with applicable professional engineering regulations, bylaws, and codes of ethics.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineering license in at least one state, or EIT status with the ability to obtain a Professional Engineering license.
• Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, API 620, API 650, and structural or stress analysis.
• Experience with storage vessels, pressure vessels, storage tanks, or pressure vessel design.
