Analysis Engineer (Structural)

Location: Plainfield, Illinois; temporary assignments to project sites may be required.

Salary: $88,471–$110,589 USD annually

What you will do

• Perform and check design calculations and engineering deliverables for plate structures, tanks, vessels, modules, foundations, and site facilities.
• Perform finite element analysis of plate steel and concrete structures under static, thermal, and dynamic load combinations.
• Prepare analysis reports describing analysis methods and results for internal design groups and external clients.
• Develop layouts, specifications, design calculations, and construction documents in accordance with applicable codes and customer requirements.
• Coordinate analysis methods, design loads, and deliverables with design groups, project engineers, managers, and other engineering functions.
• Check deliverables for safety, constructability, quality, schedule, and compliance with project documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2–3 years of relevant engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience designing structural structures and connections and performing stress analysis.
• Strong understanding of AISC, ASCE 7, IBC, and applicable structural and seismic codes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing.
• Ability to work in Plainfield, Illinois, and potentially at temporary project sites.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineering license in at least one state, or EIT status with the ability to obtain a P.E. license.
• Experience with storage tanks, storage vessels, or pressure vessel design.
• Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, API 620, and API 650.
