Provider Contracting Manager (RI/MA) - Cigna Healthcare (Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid schedule based in the Newton, Massachusetts office, with occasional work from home; supports Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Salary: $92,000–$153,300 annual salary, plus eligibility for an annual bonus plan.

What you will do

• Manage complex fee-for-service and value-based contract negotiations with physician groups, ancillary providers, and hospital systems.
• Build provider relationships that support network growth and value-based business opportunities.
• Develop strategic network positions, alternative network initiatives, and risk-based opportunities.
• Coordinate with Claims, Medical Management, Credentialing, and other matrix partners to ensure accurate execution.
• Prepare financial impact projections for complex provider contracts and manage HCP agreement implementation.
• Lead escalated provider issue resolution while maintaining knowledge of the local market and contract operations.

Requirements

• 3+ years of healthcare provider contracting and negotiation experience involving complex physician groups and ancillary providers.
• Experience in managed care, healthcare, or health insurance, including commercial contracting.
• Leadership experience with mentoring and guidance responsibilities.
• Strong provider relationship management, negotiation, contract interpretation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of complex reimbursement methodologies and strong financial analysis capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent presentation and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; relevant industry experience may substitute.
• MBA or MHA.
• Knowledge of incentive-based reimbursement models.
