Biopharmaceutical Chemist (HPLC)

Location: Groton, CT, USA; candidates should live within a commutable distance. Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with overtime, weekend, and holiday work as needed.

Salary: USD 25–30.5 per hour

What you will do

• Provide analytical chemistry support to clinical drug development projects.
• Execute in-vitro biopharmaceutics protocols, including thermodynamic solubility, USP dissolution, precipitation, and flux assays.
• Prepare analytical solutions and biorelevant media, including accurate weighing, potency corrections, buffer preparation, and safe handling of active pharmaceutical ingredients.
• Analyze study samples using HPLC and UV-vis, including calibration standards, sample processing, and drug concentration quantitation.
• Review dissolution, solubility, and analytical data; identify anomalous results for scientific follow-up.
• Document results in electronic lab notebooks and technical reports while supporting laboratory operations and instrument scheduling.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Physical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of HPLC and UV-vis spectroscopy for quantifying organic small molecules in solution.
• Basic proficiency in spreadsheet calculations, chromatography data interfaces, and scientific data analysis.
• Strong written and oral communication, quantitative ability, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with in-vitro biopharmaceutics testing, including dissolution, solubility, precipitation, or flux assays.
• Experience with GraphPad Prism, Origin/Origin Pro, JMP, or similar data analysis software.
• One to two years of wet-lab experience in a pharmaceutical company or contract organization.
