Network Engineer III - Security Operations

What you will do

• Participate in network planning, architecture design, configuration, and engineering.
• Integrate communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission links, signaling, and protocols into complete network configurations.
• Evaluate new products, resolve network problems, and optimize medium- to high-complexity systems.
• Design protocol compatibility standards, implement network enhancements, and recommend improvements.
• Develop and document technical standards and approved methods of procedure.
• Provide escalated tier support to internal organizations and third-party vendors, contributing to projects as a team member or occasional project team lead.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 5 years of data network experience.
• Ability to work lawfully in the United States without employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
• In-depth knowledge of the OSI model, TCP/IP, optical transport, IEEE and ANSI standards, fiber technologies, bridging, switching, routing, Ethernet, and transport protocols.
• In-depth knowledge of network design, architecture, protocols, topology, network devices, appliances, ticketing tools, and network design software such as Visio.
• Ability to communicate in English, work effectively in a fast-paced team environment, and learn new technologies quickly.

Nice to have

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
• Industry or vendor-specific certifications and training, including Cisco, Juniper, or Alcatel-Lucent.
