Radiologic Technologist (Diagnostic Radiology)

Location: MelroseWakefield Hospital, Melrose, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $36.00–$45.81 per hour. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is available for new external hires.

What you will do

• Perform radiographic procedures under clinical supervision and the direction of radiologists.
• Operate department imaging equipment and produce accurate, high-quality diagnostic studies.
• Identify and educate patients, provide feedback throughout examinations, and support safe patient movement and positioning.
• Complete procedure documentation, technical edits, patient escorting, room preparation, and related clerical work.
• Maintain department supplies and follow hospital, infection-control, environmental-control, and incident-reporting procedures.
• Minimize radiation exposure in accordance with ALARA guidelines and participate in quality improvement and assurance.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved School of Radiological Technology.
• Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
• Massachusetts Radiation Control Board licensure is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, clerical skills, good judgment, time management, and the ability to respond appropriately to change and stressful situations.
• Ability to transport patients, move portable X-ray equipment, lift 30–35 pounds with assistance, and wear protective lead aprons and gloves.
