Senior Electrical Test Engineer (Switchgear)

Location: Onsite Monday-Friday at 200 Twin Oaks Road, Kohler, Wisconsin 53044, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring new or transfer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary: $89,800–$114,100 per year

What you will do

• Conduct factory acceptance testing on low- and medium-voltage switchgear assemblies before shipment.
• Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and checklists based on drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Perform electrical and functional testing, including continuity and control circuit verification.
• Identify and troubleshoot defects and non-conformances, documenting corrective actions with engineering and production.
• Support production builds, customer witness testing, and technical questions during factory acceptance testing.
• Prepare test reports and quality records, calibrate test equipment, and contribute to testing improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, or a related field preferred.
• At least 4 years of experience in electrical testing within power systems or switchgear manufacturing.
• At least 4 years of electrical troubleshooting and analytical experience.
• At least 4 years of experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Hands-on experience with multimeters, insulation testers, relay test sets, and motor or generator test equipment.
• Strong understanding of electrical principles, power distribution systems, protection schemes, and applicable UL, IBC, ANSI, IEEE, IEC, and NETA standards.
