Senior Designer - Madewell Women's Cut & Sew Knits (Fashion Design)

Salary: $97,600–$126,300 per year, plus potential bonus, benefits, and perks.

What you will do

• Manage seasonal product design execution within the merchandise assortment strategy.
• Coordinate and unify creative execution across women's cut-and-sew knitwear products.
• Research seasonal trends, themes, colors, raw materials, silhouettes, and styling.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Production, and Technical Design to maintain design integrity.
• Conduct fittings and create design cards for first prototypes with measurements and construction details.
• Develop and source yarns, fabrics, and trims; approve lab dips and submissions; supervise overseas product development and manage junior designers.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of design experience and 1–3+ years of people management experience.
• Strong creative ability, taste level, illustration, presentation, organization, communication, and follow-through.
• Working knowledge of garment construction, textiles, pattern and fit, fabric and yarn construction, and seasonal fashion trends.
• Ability to research and apply market and fashion trend information, work independently, and coach and develop others.
• Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• BA in Fashion Design and understanding of the J.Crew brand with the ability to implement it into design.
