TL;DR
Compliance Officer (Pharmaceuticals): Providing strategic compliance advice, risk assessments, training, and remediation support for Sanofi’s Canadian business with an accent on healthcare requirements, fraud and abuse risk, and governance. Focus on advising matrixed business functions, managing compliance initiatives, communicating risk to management, and strengthening ethical practices across North America and global teams.

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada; hybrid work arrangement. Up to 20% regional and international travel may be required.

Salary: $170,133.33–$205,000.00 annually, including target bonus.

What you will do

  • Serve as the primary Canadian contact for Ethics & Business Integrity compliance initiatives, guidance, issues, and concerns.
  • Provide strategic compliance advice and risk assessments for projects, field activities, and home-office operations.
  • Partner with Commercial, Medical, Legal, Finance, Audit, Operations, and other functions to implement local and global requirements and risk controls.
  • Develop and deliver training on healthcare requirements, regulatory guidance, industry standards, and internal policies.
  • Communicate key risks and compliance data to management, Compliance Committees, business leadership, Legal, and E&BI meetings.
  • Support remediation strategies, special projects, process improvements, and broader compliance initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; an advanced related degree is valued.
  • Eight years of experience in related roles within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Experience assessing fraud and abuse risk and solving problems using a risk-based, pragmatic approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead change in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Exceptional relationship-management, written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion.

  • French language proficiency.
