What you will do

• Teach an assigned course through the eCollege electronic learning platform.
• Interact with students through online classroom discussions and communications.
• Respond to student questions within 48 hours and provide timely feedback.
• Verify the accuracy of student postings and submissions, then provide grades through Blackboard.
• Support student learning, advising, mentoring, and positive social change.
• Maintain current knowledge through research, writing, article and journal review, and presentations.

Requirements

• Earned doctorate in Elementary Education or a closely related field, with at least 18 graduate credits in the teaching area, or a dissertation or peer-reviewed publication in the relevant field.
• At least 7 years of verifiable experience as an elementary school teacher.
• Significant intellectual and professional contributions to Elementary Education or education.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, leadership, teamwork, time-management, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, zip software, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Reliable internet access and an adequate computer setup for online teaching; appropriate credentials, licenses, or certifications must be maintained where applicable.

Nice to have

• Teaching experience at the degree level of the program.
• Experience with online instruction at the degree level of the program.
• Experience in mathematics, science, and technology practice, with knowledge of current issues in education and curriculum and instruction.
