React/Node Developer Intern (Summer 2027)

Location: Reston, Virginia; hybrid attendance with a minimum of two office days per week. US citizenship is required, and the intern must be able to obtain a public trust clearance or higher.

Salary: $21–$30 per hour

What you will do

• Participate in Agile delivery, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Scrum activities.
• Research end-user system issues, analyze code, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
• Develop government web pages using JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and React.
• Work with other interns on a technical project and present the results to the executive team.
• Conduct external software testing and maintain user guide documentation.
• Attend corporate meetings covering business development, finance, project management, and other business areas.

Requirements

• US citizenship and the ability to obtain a public trust clearance or higher are required.
• Ability to commute to the Reston office at least two days per week is required.
• Experience with React UI, Node.js, and AWS Cloud Tools.
• Ability to understand complex business processes, investigate problems, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration skills, and a willingness to learn.
• Progress toward a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, typically as a rising junior or senior.

Nice to have

• Rising senior status.
• Experience with Jest, React Testing Library, Mocha, Chai, Sinon, AWS Lambda, SPA libraries, or Java.
• Experience with Git, Jenkins, Maven, Ansible, JUnit, SQL, PostgreSQL, or DynamoDB.
