TL;DR
Quality Manager (Chemical Manufacturing): Leading site-wide quality systems, laboratory operations, customer quality activities, and continuous improvement in a regulated chemical manufacturing environment with an accent on ISO-based systems, statistical process control, corrective actions, and data-driven performance management. Focus on strengthening QMS governance, solving customer and process quality issues through root-cause analysis, and deploying Lean, Kaizen, and standard work across the plant.

Location: New Johnsonville, Tennessee, United States

Salary: $110,544–$172,725 annually, plus an 11% annual bonus target.

What you will do

  • Lead the site Quality Management System, including ISO-based systems, audits, documentation control, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the ISO Management Representative and NSF point of contact while managing external auditor engagement and quality documentation.
  • Monitor quality KPIs and in-process and finished-product data, using Statistical Process Control to identify trends and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Oversee customer quality activities, including audits, customer visits, complaint investigations, incident management, root-cause analysis, and the Quality Service Incident program.
  • Lead laboratory operations and quality personnel through staffing, training, qualification, performance management, and development.
  • Coordinate cross-functional improvement initiatives with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, EHS/PSM, Sales, Marketing, and Product Management, using Lean principles, A3 problem solving, daily management, and Kaizen.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Quality, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of progressive quality or manufacturing leadership experience, including people management.
  • Experience in chemical, industrial, or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Statistical Process Control, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP or equivalent business and manufacturing systems.
  • Strong leadership, data-driven problem-solving, and customer-focused skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience leading ISO-based quality systems, audits, and corrective action programs.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or Black Belt certification.
  • Lead Auditor or Internal Quality Auditor certification.
  • Experience leading cross-functional quality improvement initiatives.
