What you will do

• Provide advanced direct nursing care to patients and their families.
• Conduct and document accurate clinical assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families, support informed decisions, and prepare comprehensive discharge plans.
• Manage patient assignments by delegating care according to patient needs and team-member skills.
• Apply evidence-based practice and research while participating in quality-improvement, education, and clinical-outcome initiatives.
• Guide staff development through precepting, mentoring, feedback, and participation in departmental committees and research.

Requirements

• Massachusetts RN licensure required.
• Eight years of RN experience required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Department-specific certifications relevant to the patient-care area may be required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team.
• Knowledge and application of the nursing process; ability to perform prolonged standing and walking and occasionally lift 30–35 lbs.

Nice to have

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
