Patient Access Associate Specialist - PRN (Healthcare)

Location: Onsite at HSHS - St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, Wisconsin; applicants must reside and be authorized to work in the United States. PRN coverage includes every sixth weekend from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., holidays, and on-call shifts.

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform patient admitting and pre-registration for hospital services.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, process physician orders, and complete medical necessity and compliance checks.
• Collect demographic, insurance, and financial information, including point-of-service and past-due payments.
• Explain consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms and obtain required signatures.
• Review insurance eligibility and benefit data to support collections, billing, and clean claims.
• Operate the telephone switchboard, audit accounts, and report quality findings to Patient Access leadership.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• Ability to work onsite at HSHS - St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
• Must reside and be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must complete the HFMA Certified Revenue Cycle Representative certification within nine months of hire.
