Operations Delivery Lead (Aerospace and Defence)

Location: Hampshire Area, onsite 5 days per week. Right to work in the United Kingdom and eligibility to meet UK Government and contractual personnel security and residency requirements are required. Some roles may also have nationality requirements related to security obligations.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end operational delivery for critical defence and aerospace programmes, ensuring contractual commitments and SLA targets are met.
• Manage a multi-disciplinary Service Delivery team covering Wintel, Linux, virtualisation, database administration, storage, backup, monitoring, and tooling.
• Act as the senior escalation point for major incidents and complex technical issues, while overseeing incident, problem, change, and configuration management.
• Own customer and stakeholder engagement, including service reviews, performance reporting, risk assessments, escalations, and improvement roadmaps.
• Manage operational P&L, budgets, forecasting, resource planning, capacity, and cost optimisation.
• Drive continual service improvement through automation, self-healing, proactive monitoring, Infrastructure as Code, automated provisioning, and configuration management.

Requirements

• Leadership experience in service delivery, operations management, or programme management, preferably across complex defence, aerospace, or government contracts.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary infrastructure teams in a managed services or service delivery environment.
• Strong experience with SLA-driven services, operational metrics, contractual obligations, customer relationships, and senior stakeholder management.
• Broad understanding of Wintel, Linux, virtualisation, database administration, storage, backup, monitoring, enterprise infrastructure, cloud services, or application support.
• ITIL knowledge, with ITIL 4 Foundation as a minimum, plus familiarity with ITSM practices and project or programme management methodologies.
• Experience in secure or regulated environments and eligibility for applicable UK Government personnel security requirements are required.
