Underwriting Director - Cyber London Market (Cyber)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid arrangement with three days per week in the office and two days at home

What you will do

• Lead the London Market cyber underwriting team and support the strategic direction and growth of the portfolio.
• Manage production, profitability, pricing, risk selection, and underwriting performance for new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments.
• Handle complex, high-profile, and individual risk accounts within underwriting authorities, guidelines, and reinsurance capacity.
• Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines, improve processes, and conduct competency and quality audits.
• Build broker relationships through regular engagement, market activity, thought leadership, and industry events.
• Set objectives, manage performance, support hiring and compensation decisions, and develop the underwriting team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Extensive understanding of UK Professional Indemnity or Financial Institutions and Management Liability.
• Relevant underwriting experience with a thorough understanding of the assigned products.
• Advanced capability in organisation, financial acumen, communication, collaboration, presentation, networking, risk selection, and critical and analytical thinking.
• Advanced leadership capability across strategic planning, change management, decision-making, influencing, employee development, and collaborative relationships.
• Advanced insurance qualification such as ACII or equivalent is preferred.
