Factory Digitalization Engineer (Java)

Location: Wuhan, Hubei, China; on-site role at hirify.global Transformer (Wuhan) Company Ltd in the Yangluo Economic Development Zone.

What you will do

• Plan, implement, and continuously improve the factory digitalization blueprint and roadmap.
• Manage externally delivered MES, SAP S/4HANA, and Teamcenter projects.
• Design and develop internal digital applications and system integrations using APIs and interface technologies.
• Collect, cleanse, transform, model, analyze, and visualize manufacturing data to identify bottlenecks and improve productivity, quality, and operational performance.
• Support factory IT/OT infrastructure and critical systems, including servers, virtualization, databases, networks, SAP, MES, WMS, and IoT platforms.
• Lead incident resolution and root-cause analysis while supporting cybersecurity, training, and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Automation, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Strong software-development skills with solid Java proficiency; experience with Python, PHP, C++, or other languages is also relevant.
• Knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, virtualization, TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, access control, patching, vulnerability remediation, and data security.
• Familiarity with manufacturing IT/OT environments, industrial networks, shop-floor equipment, MES, SCADA, IoT gateways, and edge computing.
• Hands-on Mendix development experience, especially independent development of medium-to-large applications.
• Knowledge of SAP ERP table structures and business-data logic, plus effective written and spoken English communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP FICO, PP, MM, or QM.
• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
