Senior Software Engineer (Logistics)

What you will do

• Build highly available, secure, distributed systems using a microservice architecture.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain systems modeling logistics entities such as cargo, documents, carriers, containers, and shipments.
• Architect and lead major multi-month projects with phased rollouts and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Translate complex business problems into technical solutions with business partners and product managers.
• Deliver products incrementally and maintain a high quality bar through metrics, testing, operations, and post-mortem learnings.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to the development of the wider software engineering community.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience and a strong engineering background.
• 3+ years of design and architecture experience, including object-oriented analysis and design patterns.
• Experience building large-scale, high-performance systems in complex, multi-tiered, distributed environments.
• Knowledge of at least one programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Ruby, Python, or C++.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Understanding of software engineering practices including code reviews, source control, continuous deployment, testing, and operations.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering large projects across multiple teams or organizations.
• Knowledge of performance trade-offs, load balancing, and operational issues.
• Experience mentoring junior software engineers.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
