Sr. Solutions Architect - Automotive

Location: Munich, Germany; ability to travel weekly required.

What you will do

• Drive technical and consumption strategies for complex enterprise customer engagements.
• Own senior technical relationships and advise executives on data and AI strategy.
• Lead architecture engagements involving multi-workload platforms, enterprise migrations, real-time systems, and AI/ML at scale.
• Develop competitive strategies and position Databricks against incumbent and emerging platforms.
• Orchestrate DSAs, SSAs, partners, and product teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
• Mentor junior solutions architects and contribute customer-facing thought leadership through content, workshops, and community engagement.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in solutions architecture, principal engineering, technical pre-sales leadership, or a senior customer-facing technical role.
• Expert coding proficiency in Python and SQL; Spark/PySpark experience is preferred.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, streaming and real-time architectures, lakehouse design, data governance, and cloud-native platforms.
• Expert Databricks Platform knowledge or equivalent expertise with demonstrated ability to learn competing platforms rapidly.
• Experience driving platform adoption and consumption growth, leading competitive displacements, and managing complex enterprise evaluations.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience; a live coding assessment and platform build are part of the interview.
