Associate Vice President, Finance (University Finance)

What you will do

• Develop, administer, and oversee the campus budget, including funds allocated by other system entities.
• Prepare and present financial materials for university leadership, the System Board of Regents, the Chancellor, legislative bodies, and state offices.
• Provide financial consulting and oversight to campus business managers and lead Business Operations Team meetings.
• Advise executive leadership on the financial implications of strategic decisions and analyze new campus initiatives and programs.
• Administer the campus compliance plan, enterprise risk management reporting, insurance programs, and related claims.
• Oversee FEMA-related financial documentation, incident-response finance activities, service agreements, and contract reviews and negotiations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.
• At least ten years of experience in accounting and administration.
• Ability to read and interpret financial reports and work with a wide range of financial systems.
• Ability to develop strategic plans and supporting budgets, analyze complex financial issues, and collaborate effectively.
• Ability to comply with state and federal laws, codes, and Texas A&M University System policies and procedures.
• This is a security-sensitive position requiring a criminal history investigation and credential verification.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in business or accounting.
• Experience leading a complex finance or compliance organization.
• Experience with automated budgeting software and financial analysis for new initiatives.
• At least five years of finance or compliance experience in a large public university setting.
• State of Texas experience.
