What you will do
- Develop, administer, and oversee the campus budget, including funds allocated by other system entities.
- Prepare and present financial materials for university leadership, the System Board of Regents, the Chancellor, legislative bodies, and state offices.
- Provide financial consulting and oversight to campus business managers and lead Business Operations Team meetings.
- Advise executive leadership on the financial implications of strategic decisions and analyze new campus initiatives and programs.
- Administer the campus compliance plan, enterprise risk management reporting, insurance programs, and related claims.
- Oversee FEMA-related financial documentation, incident-response finance activities, service agreements, and contract reviews and negotiations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.
- At least ten years of experience in accounting and administration.
- Ability to read and interpret financial reports and work with a wide range of financial systems.
- Ability to develop strategic plans and supporting budgets, analyze complex financial issues, and collaborate effectively.
- Ability to comply with state and federal laws, codes, and Texas A&M University System policies and procedures.
- This is a security-sensitive position requiring a criminal history investigation and credential verification.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in business or accounting.
- Experience leading a complex finance or compliance organization.
- Experience with automated budgeting software and financial analysis for new initiatives.
- At least five years of finance or compliance experience in a large public university setting.
- State of Texas experience.
