Senior Java Developer (AI)

Location: Uruguay; remote or hybrid work options available.

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and modernize scalable enterprise applications using Java and J2EE.
• Build application functionality with Spring, Struts, Hibernate, JSF, and React.
• Develop and integrate APIs, services, databases, and third-party systems.
• Translate client requirements and solution designs into reliable, maintainable implementations.
• Participate across the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Investigate complex issues, improve performance and reliability, conduct code reviews, and mentor colleagues.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience designing and developing enterprise applications with Java and J2EE.
• Experience with relevant application frameworks and frontend, backend, and integration layers.
• Full understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience executing project deliverables.
• Strong problem-solving, consultative, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to lead, mentor, motivate, present, and collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA professionals, developers, and clients.
• Willingness to actively use, learn, and promote AI tools and methodologies in daily engineering work.

Nice to have

• Claude Certified Developer or Architect certification.
• Experience with AI or a proven ability to rapidly learn and mentor others on emerging technologies.
