Location: Milton Park, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom, with a minimum of three days per week in the office. The office is expected to relocate to Oxford city centre in late 2027 or early 2028. Applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK and live within commuting distance of the office.
Salary: £33,500–£36,500 per year, depending on relevant academic publishing experience, plus a 5% bonus.

What you will do
- Manage book production from receipt of un-copyedited author typescripts through delivery of final products.
- Commission and coordinate suppliers, prepare materials, manage relationships, and provide feedback.
- Handle queries from authors and editors and manage expectations throughout production.
- Maintain accurate production information in databases and perform quality control of final content.
- Control production schedules and budgets, including assessing and coding supplier invoices.
- Complete multiple tasks to deadlines in a process-driven environment.
Requirements
- Strong organisation, prioritisation, multitasking, and deadline-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify errors and solve problems.
- Ability to maintain accurate information used by others, ideally with database experience.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, build rapport, and provide high-quality customer service.
- Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Reader, with enthusiasm for learning new technology.
- Right to live and work in the UK and availability to work in the Milton Park office at least three days per week.
Nice to have
- Experience working within budgets.
- Basic understanding of the publishing process from typescript submission to final content.
- Experience in academic publishing or production editorial work.
