Senior Security Data Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $159,800–$235,000 USD annually, plus potential equity grants

What you will do

• Own multi-terabyte-per-day security log pipelines across AWS and GCP, including ingestion, routing, enrichment, schema management, and source onboarding.
• Control ingestion costs and volumes while preserving audit logs required for investigations.
• Model security data and optimize queries in Snowflake, BigQuery, and Redshift.
• Build production services, SIEM connectors, API clients, automation, AI agents, and automated runbooks.
• Define SLOs for log availability and freshness and create dashboards and alerting to track them.
• Manage infrastructure as code, CI/CD, IAM governance, documentation, cross-functional projects, and engineering mentorship.

Requirements

• 5+ years building and operating high-volume production data pipelines at multi-terabyte-per-day scale.
• 4+ years writing production software in Python, Go, Rust, or Java.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and GCP, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD using GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills with Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift, including partitioning, cost control, and query tuning.
• Experience owning platform reliability, on-call operations, dashboards, engineering metrics, and technical projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication with a collaborative, continuous-learning approach.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise SIEM platforms such as Google SecOps/Chronicle, Splunk, Elastic, or CrowdStrike LogScale.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, runtime security controls, security telemetry, detections-as-code, LLM-assisted workflows, penetration testing, red teaming, or bug bounty triage.
