Vehicle SW-Functions Validation Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Martorell, Barcelona, Spain; on-site testing activities and occasional domestic and international travel are required.

Salary: €28,000–€40,000 gross per year, depending on experience and responsibilities.

What you will do

• Plan, coordinate, and execute vehicle experimentation, testing, and validation activities.
• Validate powertrain systems, including engines, transmissions, cooling, thermal management, and mHEV/PHEV/BEV technologies.
• Test automotive electronics, ECUs, vehicle features, fuel systems, and homologation-related functions.
• Perform CAN bus analysis, data acquisition, data evaluation, and root cause analysis.
• Manage software and hardware updates, ECU flashing, technical reporting, and release documentation.
• Contribute to process automation, data analysis, and reporting solutions using digital tools and AI technologies.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in vehicle validation, testing, or experimentation.
• Technical knowledge of powertrain, cooling, fuel, thermal management, and vehicle electronic systems.
• Experience with automotive development and diagnostic tools such as CANoe, INCA, MDA, ODIS, or equivalent.
• Professional English and Spanish required.
• Availability for occasional travel and on-site testing activities.

Nice to have

• Programming or scripting experience with Python or CANoe-CAPL.
• German language skills.
• Experience in automotive development environments and CAN communication analysis.
• Experience improving testing, automation, and reporting efficiency.
