Senior Data Analytics Engineer (AI)

Location: Bulgaria; hybrid work in Sofia. Minimal travel as required.

Salary: €30,000–€38,500 gross per annum.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain analytical pipelines and reporting solutions using BigQuery and hirify.global.
• Write sophisticated, performant SQL for large-scale datasets and analytical insights.
• Develop internal tooling, automation, APIs, and services with Python, FastAPI, and modern frameworks.
• Apply AI and machine learning capabilities, including LLMs, generative AI, and embeddings, to analytics workflows.
• Document data architecture, lineage, schemas, and information flows across source systems and warehouses.
• Translate complex findings for technical and non-technical stakeholders and identify opportunities for process and operational improvements.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in data analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related field.
• Expert-level SQL, including joins, window functions, and CTEs; BigQuery and hirify.global experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong Python and/or JavaScript skills for building pipelines, internal tools, APIs, automation, data-facing web applications, and dashboards.
• Deep understanding of data architecture, database structures, data flows, and evolving schemas.
• Hands-on AI/ML experience and proficiency with AI-powered development tools such as Windsurf, Gemini, Claude, or Cursor.
• Strong communication, self-management, continuous improvement, and end-to-end ownership skills; a public GitHub profile is required.

Nice to have

• FastAPI experience for internal APIs and services.
• Business process design or operational analytics experience.
• Experience working with Finance, Marketing, Sales, Operations, or Engineering data.
• Docker and Kubernetes experience.
