What you will do

• Design and own front-end architectures for enterprise headless commerce solutions using Next.js, React, and TypeScript.
• Lead decisions on SSR, edge and serverless rendering, state management, caching, and Core Web Vitals optimization.
• Document architectural decisions and break epics into implementable stories with clear acceptance criteria and estimates.
• Define coding standards and conventions for engineers and AI agents.
• Collaborate with clients during discovery to translate business requirements into technical architecture roadmaps.
• Resolve technical ambiguity and unblock distributed engineering teams before sprints.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience leading front-end architecture decisions for distributed engineering teams of 3+ people.
• Deep proficiency in React, Next.js App Router, React Server Components, and TypeScript.
• Experience architecting enterprise commerce platforms such as Shopify Plus, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, BigCommerce, or similar.
• Strong expertise in performance engineering, Core Web Vitals, LCP, CLS, INP, caching, and CDN.
• Experience preparing specifications, documentation, and tasks for AI agent execution, including Cursor or Claude Code.
• Upper-Intermediate English or higher is required for client-facing communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with headless CMS platforms such as Contentful, Sanity, or Contentstack.
• Experience with headless commerce and composable storefronts, including Shopify Storefront API or SFCC Composable Storefront.
• Familiarity with Jest, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Experience with SCAYLE.
• Experience working across distributed, async-first teams and multiple time zones.
