Senior Business Intelligence Specialist

Location: Tampa, Florida — hybrid, with remote and in-person work. The role supports a U.S. Combatant Command headquartered at MacDill Air Force Base and requires U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility based on an SSBI.

What you will do

• Develop and sustain enterprise-scale business intelligence services, architectures, data warehouses, and operational data stores.
• Translate leadership decision questions into analytic requirements, KPIs, success metrics, and measures of effectiveness.
• Build decision-support dashboards, scorecards, and visual analytics aligned with leadership battle rhythms and staff workflows.
• Establish data governance, authoritative sources, metadata, refresh schedules, access controls, provenance, lineage, classification, and retention controls.
• Develop data flows and pipelines from authoritative sources and integrate BI capabilities with automation and enterprise knowledge platforms.
• Document and train users and administrators, instrument usage telemetry, support adoption, and mentor business intelligence analysts.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility based on an SSBI.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline; relevant experience may substitute.
• At least eight years of business intelligence or data analytics experience, including five years designing and delivering enterprise-scale Power BI solutions.
• Expertise in data modeling, DAX, semantic model design, row-level security, and performance tuning.
• Experience building data pipelines into a data warehouse or operational data store, with working SQL proficiency.
• Experience defining KPIs and measures of effectiveness with senior stakeholders and translating decision questions into analytic requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting a Combatant Command, Service headquarters, or SOF organization.
• Microsoft certifications such as PL-300 or DP-600.
• Experience with Power BI Report Server, classified enclaves, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or comparable enterprise data warehouse platforms.
• Experience applying AI and Machine Learning features in Power BI within an approved and governed environment.
• Lean Six Sigma certification and experience with MS SQL Server, Dynamics 365, or mission data platforms.
