Senior Medical Editor (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Proofread and copy-edit scientific and commercial content from draft manuscripts through final artwork.
• Fact-check scientific data against publications, clinical guidelines, EMA documents, and other scientific sources.
• Check and annotate references for completeness and accuracy, applying and updating editorial, client, and product-specific style guides.
• Manage document uploads and reference organization in Veeva PromoMats to support client review and approval workflows.
• Develop templates, checklists, and standardized editorial workflows to improve efficiency, consistency, and quality.
• Partner with medical writers, provide constructive feedback and reference packs, estimate editorial work, and mentor junior editors.

Requirements

• Native English or equivalent proficiency.
• At least 3 years of experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or medical communications.
• Demonstrated expertise in scientific fact-checking and reference validation.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in English, Communications, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience with Veeva PromoMats or a similar document management and compliance platform, plus the ability to manage multiple projects.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat mark-up, EndNote, and other reference management systems.
• Familiarity with regulatory guidance and compliance requirements in pharmaceutical marketing.
• Experience with healthcare and brand style guides.
• Background in scientific or medical writing.
