Senior Database Reliability Engineer (PostgreSQL)

What you will do

• Design and manage highly available PostgreSQL architectures using AWS RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Optimize queries, indexes, partitioning, and database performance for large-scale systems.
• Manage backups, replication, recovery, and failover processes.
• Troubleshoot slow queries, locks, deadlocks, and database bottlenecks.
• Automate database maintenance and reliability workflows.
• Support data migrations, application scaling, operational improvements, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Production experience with PostgreSQL and strong knowledge of its internals.
• Experience with high-availability architecture, large-scale databases, performance optimization, replication, and failover.
• Experience managing high-traffic database environments.
• Strong query tuning, indexing, partitioning, backup, and disaster recovery skills.
• Strong analytical, communication, and troubleshooting skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Terraform, CI/CD, and cloud-native environments.
• Experience with data platforms, ETL, analytics workloads, and monitoring tools.
