Geo-Environmental Consultant (Environmental)

Location: Bristol, London or Manchester, United Kingdom; regular travel to client sites and hirify.global offices across the UK is required.

What you will do

• Supervise site investigations, including drilling, cone penetration testing, and machine- or hand-excavated trial pits.
• Log environmental and geotechnical investigations to British Standards using OpenGround.
• Perform field testing, soil sampling, groundwater monitoring, groundwater sampling, and ground gas and soil vapor monitoring.
• Prepare site data for reporting, desk studies, site walkovers, Tier 1 due diligence reports, and Tier 2 factual and preliminary risk assessment reports.
• Work independently and collaboratively on client project assignments, with potential overseas travel to support global projects.

Requirements

• Early-career experience in site investigations.
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel throughout the UK are required.
• Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
• BSc or higher in geology, geo-environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a related discipline.
• Understanding of contaminated land guidance, including LCRM, NHBC, CIRIA, Eurocode, and British Standards.
