Compliance Operations Officer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Provide regulatory advisory support to operational teams on policies, procedures, and technical compliance queries.
• Review KYC and AML checks and verify wholesale-client categorisations during onboarding.
• Maintain and improve the Compliance Manual, policies, and procedures in line with ASIC and AUSTRAC requirements.
• Support the Head of Compliance with ASIC, AUSTRAC, and external-audit requests and submissions.
• Assist with internal audits, control testing, risk assessments, and remediation of identified gaps.
• Manage breach, complaint, conflict, and incident registers and prepare data-driven reports for committees and the Board.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in compliance or regulatory roles within OTC derivatives, CFDs, FX, or broader financial markets, ideally under an AFSL framework.
• Strong working knowledge of ASIC Regulatory Guides, the AML/CTF Act, and derivative-reporting obligations.
• Hands-on experience with client-onboarding workflows, trading systems, compliance-monitoring tools, policy drafting, control testing, and board-level reporting.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and resilient under pressure, with the ability to investigate issues and drive improvements.
• Confident communication and stakeholder-management skills for working with operational teams, regulators, and auditors.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, law, or a related field, or near completion.
