Staff Research Team Lead (Machine Learning)

Location: Warsaw, Masovian Voivodeship, Poland; remote and on-site work possible

What you will do

• Lead a team of 4–8 ML researchers by setting priorities, reviewing work, unblocking projects, and supporting career growth.
• Balance hands-on research with team leadership while driving projects with company-wide scope and direct impact on core metrics.
• Design, implement, and deploy deep neural network models that predict Internet users’ behavior and preferences.
• Develop and test approaches to problems such as bidding in first-price auctions.
• Conduct and analyze A/B tests and translate recent machine learning research into production improvements.
• Own projects end to end, from problem definition and proof of concept through testing, implementation, and deployment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a researcher or engineer.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning or data science.
• At least 2 years of experience managing and mentoring an engineering or research team.
• Strong programming skills and sound mathematical knowledge and intuition.
• Experience developing and shipping production machine learning systems.
• Effective communication and the ability to define, prioritize, and execute ambiguous research projects.

Nice to have

• Strong theoretical knowledge of statistics, probability, discrete mathematics, or combinatorics.
• AdTech experience.
• Experience hiring and building research teams.
• Experience leading applied research in a production environment.
