Sr AR Staff Accountant (Insurance)

Location: Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States

Salary: $55,000–$65,000 per year

What you will do

• Support accounts receivable activities and commercial collections.
• Reconcile accounts and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly bad debt reserve calculations.
• Apply general accounting knowledge to daily finance operations.
• Complete accurate and fast data entry using Microsoft Office and Excel.

Requirements

• 4 or more years of progressive accounts receivable experience, including account reconciliation.
• 4 or more years of commercial collections experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Knowledge of general accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, urgency, and information retention.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment.

Nice to have

• Associate, bachelor's, or bachelor's-level accounting-related education.
• Insurance industry experience.
