TL;DR
Quality Engineering Co-op (MedTech): Supporting quality engineering projects for medical devices with an accent on risk management, statistical analysis, regulatory guidance, and product safety. Focus on analyzing quality data, developing procedures and work instructions, and collaborating with quality, development, test, and design engineers.

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio, United States of America; on-site support at the J&J MedTech Cincinnati location.

Salary: $23.50–$52.50 per hour, based on program year, discipline, degree, and experience.

What you will do

  • Collaborate with cross-functional MedTech teams on quality engineering projects.
  • Support and perform risk management activities.
  • Apply statistical techniques to analyze quality data.
  • Develop training materials, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Support project teams in ensuring products are safe and effective for patient use.
  • Work with quality, development, test, and design engineers while reporting to an assignment manager.

Requirements

  • Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States for the full co-op duration from January through April 2027 and must not require current or future employment visa sponsorship.
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, biomedical, chemical, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Have completed at least one year of the degree program by January 2027 and expect to graduate after April 2027.
  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Demonstrate strong organization, attention to detail, independent working ability, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office and virtual collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams.

Nice to have

  • Leadership or participation in campus programs or community service.
  • Previous quality engineering or medical-related experience.
  • Knowledge of FDA or other regulatory guidance.
  • Experience with Minitab or statistical analysis software.
  • Coursework or project experience in programming, test automation, or software testing tools.
