Data Scientist (AI/ML)

Location: Lyon, France; hybrid schedule with 60% office and 40% remote work

What you will do

• Translate business requirements from manufacturing and supply teams into technical data science needs.
• Develop machine learning, deep learning, statistical, forecasting, optimization, simulation, and algorithmic solutions for AI products.
• Organize and analyze large, complex data assets and design relevant data models for business cases.
• Build and optimize code, conduct ML experiments, and deliver production-ready models and AI-based data products.
• Collaborate with developers, engineers, and MLOps specialists to industrialize scalable AI/ML solutions.
• Apply responsible AI governance, including monitoring, explainability, trustworthiness, ethics, and solution robustness; mentor junior data scientists and analysts.

Requirements

• Experience developing deployable code and deploying models in agile, product-focused environments.
• Production-ready software development experience and a track record of applying machine learning or deep learning to complex problems.
• Expertise in Python or R, business analysis, data visualization, data storytelling, and database systems including SQL, NoSQL, graph, or time-series databases.
• Knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, LLMs, reinforcement learning, federated learning, forecasting, Bayesian statistics, and optimization.
• Experience with cloud or high-performance computing environments such as AWS, GCP, Databricks, or Apache Spark, as well as APIs, CI/CD, and orchestration.
• English and French required. PhD in a quantitative discipline or a relevant master’s degree with strong coding skills.

Nice to have

• Healthcare industry experience.
• Experience with IoT data and time-series forecasting.
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Streamlit, Plotly, seaborn, or similar visualization technologies.
• Good knowledge of AI regulations and experience handling sensitive data in critical environments.
