Senior Underwriter Construction

Location: Milano, Italy; primarily in the office

What you will do

• Underwrite new and renewal construction business and develop profitable solutions for complex risks.
• Work with brokers to communicate risk appetite and value propositions and understand client deal structures, terms, and products.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions, and deal structures with brokers and clients.
• Generate new business by expanding the broker network, attending broker events, and building market relationships.
• Collaborate with distribution, territory managers, and underwriters in other business lines on target accounts and cross-selling opportunities.
• Mentor and train less-experienced underwriters while maintaining high customer service standards.

Requirements

• Proven underwriting experience and strong knowledge of construction insurance.
• Ability to analyze financial statements.
• Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Customer- and sales-oriented behavior, with a proactive, technically skilled, tenacious, and accountable approach.
• Interest in mentoring and training less-experienced underwriters.
