Associate Underwriter (Insurance)

Location: Dublin, Ireland; hybrid arrangement with three days per week in the office and two days at home. The role requires travel to broker meetings.

What you will do

• Manage new business, renewals, submissions, quotes, and binds for a portfolio of routine commercial insurance accounts.
• Underwrite and negotiate routine risks, including mid-term adjustments, to support profitability and risk appetite.
• Develop portfolio performance, growth, retention, and key performance indicators.
• Identify risk characteristics, take corrective action, and pursue opportunities to write additional lines of business.
• Use technology platforms to quote and bind risks efficiently.
• Build relationships with brokers, internal partners, and sales teams to market products and support cross-selling.

Requirements

• Some prior related insurance experience.
• Leaving Certificate or similar qualification.
• Knowledge of insurance products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
• Critical-thinking and analytical skills for underwriting, financial analysis, and risk-based decision-making.
• Communication and negotiation skills for working with agents and brokers.
• Ability to collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds and participate in routine product and regulatory projects.
