Underground Power and Communications Equipment Operator

Location: Multiple U.S. states, including Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Travel required.

What you will do

• Operate heavy equipment on telecommunications and deenergized buried power construction projects.
• Maneuver, navigate, and safely control construction equipment at job sites.
• Use mini-excavators, backhoes, front-end loaders, and dozers.
• Move materials and equipment throughout construction sites.
• Support the installation of underground power, fiber optic, copper, coaxial, and communications cable systems.
• Promote safety while completing challenging field infrastructure work.

Requirements

• Six months to one year of operator experience with mini-excavators, backhoes, front-end loaders, or dozers.
• Willingness to work under a union collective bargaining agreement.
• Valid driver license for the vehicle types operated and an acceptable driving record.
• Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement, or the ability to obtain one.
• Availability to travel is required.
