Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas, United States; on-campus role with travel with assigned athletic teams as necessary.

What you will do

• Coordinate and direct media relations activities for 16 intercollegiate sports.
• Serve as the primary liaison and spokesperson for local, regional, and national media, universities, conferences, and organizations.
• Write and distribute news releases, maintain athletic statistics and records, and coordinate game-day operations.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and schedule student workers supporting game-day functions.
• Manage athletics website content and collaborate on communications, branding, print, and online materials.
• Produce live statistics and ESPN+ broadcasts while maintaining streaming infrastructure and organizing photo and video archives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, sports administration, or a closely related field.
• Two years of related experience in athletics communications or broadcasting; a relevant master’s degree may substitute for the experience requirement.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Employment is contingent on credential verification and completion of a criminal history investigation; all positions are security-sensitive.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree and experience supervising student workers.
• Knowledge of SIDEARM CMS or comparable website management software.
• Experience with Adobe Premiere, video editing, and live video streaming.
• Experience with StatCrew, Genius, Photoshop, and InDesign.
