Risk Strategy Analyst, Payment Risk - USDS (Multiple Positions)

Location: San Jose, California, United States

Salary: $176,356–$329,334 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Establish a holistic risk management framework for payment fraud, credit losses, and financial abuse across consumers, merchants, and affiliates.
• Develop risk metrics, dashboards, scenario planning, and simulation testing.
• Research fraud cases using large-scale data and ad hoc analysis to identify root causes of payment risk.
• Design solutions using suspicious-user characteristics and machine learning models to detect, prevent, and mitigate fraudulent behavior.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define risk product roadmaps and strategies.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field plus 2 years of related experience; or a bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of progressive post-bachelor’s experience.
• At least 2 years of experience collecting and analyzing data to evaluate business risks and develop integrated controls.
• At least 2 years of experience using SQL and data visualization tools to analyze large datasets, detect trends, and identify anomalies.
• At least 2 years of experience with historical data analysis, root cause analysis, and dashboard development using Tableau or Power BI.
• At least 2 years of experience using Python for data manipulation, prediction, data-load automation, and reporting optimization.
• Experience communicating objectives, risk, status, and updates to stakeholders and organizational leaders.
