Patient Care Tech, ACTT (24hrs/week-Day Shift)

Location: Lowell General Hospital, Main Campus-Emergency Room, Lowell, Massachusetts, United States. Part-time day shift, 24 hours per week, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with weekend and holiday commitments and every third weekend rotation.

Pay range: $20.12–$25.15 per hour.

What you will do

• Provide activities-of-daily-living support and basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff.
• Prepare patient rooms, assist with meals, transport patients, and maintain clean and safe care environments.
• Perform technical tasks including glucometer use, operation of lift-assisted devices, and specimen collection.
• Collect, record, and report patient data accurately and provide continuous observation as a patient sitter when assigned.
• Support patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, including clerical work and chart maintenance.
• Communicate professionally with patients, families, visitors, and hospital personnel while supporting department security procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to provide care under stressful conditions, including emergencies, interruptions, changing unit pace, and critically ill patients.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, prioritization, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift up to 30–35 pounds, turn patients, and stand and walk for extended periods.

Nice to have

• One year of healthcare or nursing service experience.
• Certification as a patient care technician, clinical associate, certified nursing assistant, or equivalent.
