Summer Associate 2027 (Civil Construction)

Location: Lorton, Virginia, United States; assignments may cover Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC. Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States.

Hourly compensation: $18.00–$23.00.

What you will do

• Support estimating by evaluating subcontractor bids, performing quantity takeoffs, and scoping bid packages.
• Assist field supervision with self-perform and subcontractor crews, including schedule planning and management.
• Track daily quantities, tickets, and foreman daily timecards.
• Support project business and financial management, including subcontract administration, payment requests, submittals, and RFIs.
• Track change orders and project budgets while building positive relationships with customers and coworkers.

Requirements

• Outstanding communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Team-oriented approach with leadership abilities.
• General understanding of, or strong interest in, the heavy highway and civil construction industry.
• Willingness to learn new skills and develop professionally.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must be at least 18 years old, authorized to work full-time in the United States, and able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
