What you will do

• Provide expert surgical technologist support throughout the perioperative experience across a wide range of procedures.
• Prepare and organize instruments, supplies, equipment, medications, specimens, and operating rooms for surgical cases.
• Maintain strict aseptic technique, perform surgical counts, support patient positioning and transport, and follow decontamination procedures.
• Coordinate specialty surgical services and ensure required equipment and instrumentation are available.
• Serve as a preceptor, mentor, and role model while providing advisory supervision and training for surgical technologists.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary and perioperative leadership teams on equipment selection, scheduling, education, policies, and performance improvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech Program, qualifying military surgical technology training, or qualifying surgical facility experience before July 1, 2013.
• Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) is required for technologists employed after July 1, 2013.
• 8 years of healthcare experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Expert knowledge of aseptic technique, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, pharmacology, surgical instrumentation, and specialty equipment.
