Location: Oakland or Mountain View, California, United States
Salary: $209,500–$283,500 annual base pay; compensation may also include a cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do
- Identify high-impact opportunities to use data and AI to improve member outcomes.
- Develop and continuously improve machine learning models for targeting, marketing campaigns, personalization, user profiles, and behavior modeling.
- Research GenAI, deep learning, recommender systems, and other AI techniques for personal finance.
- Define business metrics and design statistically sound experiments for revenue, engagement, and user experience.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, marketing, finance, analytics, and other cross-functional partners.
- Represent Data Science in business reviews and represent Credit Karma at conferences and meetups.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
- 7+ years of industry experience in data science, machine learning, or related areas.
- Deep statistical knowledge and experience architecting and developing advanced ML systems.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, and SQL.
- Experience applying machine learning and AI to large-scale products and personal finance or consumer internet environments.
- Ability to work in Oakland or Mountain View, California.
Nice to have
- Experience driving monetization, member engagement, and long-term member value through AI.
- Experience with large-scale AI systems, generative AI, AI infrastructure, data foundations, and self-serve analytics.
- Ads business and product experience.
- Experience working in fast-paced, large-scale company environments.
