Company

hirify.global is a Dayton-based defense startup building software that helps people make informed decisions from raw intelligence data, with a specialization in satellite collection.

What you will do

  • Adapt, train, evaluate, and transition a prototype application for detecting and separating closely spaced objects in EO/IR imagery.
  • Acquire, prepare, and curate representative sensor datasets for algorithm development and evaluation.
  • Translate operational needs into measurable algorithm requirements, experiments, and validation methods.
  • Evaluate algorithm performance quantitatively on real-world imagery and communicate technical results to engineers, users, and decision-makers.
  • Develop clear, reproducible, maintainable Python research software using modern software engineering practices.
  • Collaborate within a small, multidisciplinary team while working independently on ambiguous requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, electrical or computer engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least three years of experience in image processing, computer vision, machine learning, imagery science, or a related engineering field.
  • At least one year of professional Python development experience.
  • Experience developing or evaluating algorithms for EO/IR imagery or comparable sensor data, preparing datasets, and quantitatively assessing algorithm performance.
  • Experience using NumPy and at least one image-processing or machine-learning framework, plus proficiency with Git.
  • Active SECRET security clearance and ability to work on-site at the BGIF in Boulder, Colorado are required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with OPIR or GEOINT imagery and data exploitation.
  • Experience with scikit-image, PyTorch, point-source detection, object separation, image segmentation, sensor calibration, or image-quality assessment.
  • Experience developing modular, reusable object-oriented software.
  • Familiarity with Protocol Buffers, Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, container technologies, and operational software deployment.

Culture & Benefits

  • Mission-focused work supporting defense and satellite intelligence applications.
  • Flexible time off totaling 36 days per year with no approval required.
  • 100% 401(k) company match up to IRS annual limits and annual profit sharing through a 401(k) contribution.
