Patient Care Tech (OCU) - 36hrs/week- Day/Evening Shift (Healthcare)

Location: Lowell General Hospital, Lowell, Massachusetts, United States. Onsite role with day/evening shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; every other weekend and two major summer and two major winter holiday shifts are required.

Pay range: $20.12–$25.15.

What you will do

• Provide activities of daily living and basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff.
• Maintain patient safety, prepare rooms, assist with meals, and keep patient areas clean.
• Transport patients for procedures and discharge, and safely operate patient-care equipment.
• Perform technical tasks including glucometer use, lift-assisted procedures, and specimen collection.
• Collect, record, and report patient data; provide continuous observation when assigned as a patient sitter.
• Support admissions, transfers, discharges, chart maintenance, visitor access, phones, and other clerical duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to lift up to 30–35 pounds, turn patients, and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work under stress and respond to changing unit needs.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and recognize patient data related to age-specific care needs.

Nice to have

• One year of healthcare or nursing service experience.
• Certification as a patient care technician, clinical associate, certified nursing assistant, or equivalent.
