Sr. Accountant (Fixed Assets)

What you will do

• Maintain accurate and timely fixed asset records in the general ledger and fixed asset system.
• Record acquisitions, transfers, disposals, project costs, and construction-in-progress closeouts.
• Reconcile the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the general ledger and prepare roll-forward schedules.
• Calculate depreciation and amortization in Sage FAS and review assets for obsolescence.
• Prepare property tax returns, audit schedules, and analyses requested by management.
• Research complex fixed asset issues, resolve discrepancies, and support government audits.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in accounting or related experience.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in a general ledger systems environment.
• Strong knowledge of fixed assets and general ledger accounting.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, oral, communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
