Location: Austin, Texas, United States; primarily office- or laboratory-based. Occasional travel to manufacturing sites, clinical validation sites, and surgeon workshops is required. Applicants must already have full-time work authorization in the United States and must not require employment visa sponsorship.

What you will do
- Define, design, and support system-level architecture for surgical navigation and visualization platforms.
- Translate clinical and product requirements into system specifications, technical requirements, interfaces, and verification plans.
- Integrate software, hardware, optical navigation technologies, surgical instruments, and real-time visualization capabilities.
- Ensure system performance, reliability, safety, and compliance across integrated medical technology platforms.
- Identify and resolve system-level issues and support verification, validation, risk management, and design reviews.
- Contribute to new product development, sustaining engineering, lifecycle management, and continuous platform improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, or complex product development.
- Experience with software development and integrating software with physical hardware such as cameras and tracking systems.
- Strong understanding of optical navigation systems, real-time visualization, 3D visualization, or game engine-based applications.
- Experience with SDLC, version control systems such as Git, and Agile development methodologies.
- Full-time work authorization in the United States without requiring current or future visa sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Experience with medical device systems engineering or regulated environments involving FDA or ISO requirements.
- Experience with surgical navigation platforms, augmented reality, or immersive visualization systems.
- Knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics in orthopedic applications.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies, web services, REST APIs, system risk management, and design control processes.
