Senior Software Engineer, Ads Pangle - USDS (AdTech)

Location: San Jose R&D; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $136,800–$359,720 annually

What you will do

• Design and implement highly available ad-serving systems for large-scale traffic with low latency.
• Develop and optimize ad delivery strategies across placements to improve monetization efficiency.
• Improve algorithms and systems for ad recall, ranking, bidding, and traffic allocation.
• Use large-scale advertising data to build user- and ad-level monitoring, analytical, and campaign-optimization tools.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, organizations, and internal and external stakeholders to drive initiatives and innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of professional experience with modern software technologies, large-scale backend systems, and data pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and software design.
• Strong coding, debugging, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work fully in person in San Jose up to 5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Strong programming expertise in C++ or Go.
• Experience with large-scale advertising infrastructure or other high-throughput, low-latency systems.
• Strong teamwork, communication, ownership, business, and data intuition.
• Experience with project execution, abstraction, and innovation.
