Data Engineer for Databricks Platform (Databricks): Build and optimize data solutions and end-to-end ingestion pipelines on Databricks with an accent on PySpark, Delta Lake, data quality, and platform operations. Focus on developing centralized ingestion frameworks, implementing monitoring, improving CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices, and evaluating new Databricks capabilities.
Location: Bratislava, Slovakia
Salary: Minimum EUR 3,000 gross per month; actual compensation depends on professional and personal qualifications.

What you will do
- Build and optimize data solutions using Databricks, PySpark, and Delta Lake.
- Manage and continuously improve a centralized data ingestion framework.
- Design, build, and maintain end-to-end data ingestion pipelines.
- Resolve data quality incidents with data consumers and business stakeholders.
- Develop data quality frameworks and monitoring solutions.
- Evaluate new Databricks features and contribute to infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD improvements.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of recent experience in data engineering or a similar role.
- Recent hands-on experience with SQL, Python, Databricks and/or PySpark, Delta Lake, Spark SQL, and structured streaming.
- Understanding of data ingestion patterns, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling fundamentals.
- Experience with Git, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and software engineering best practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS and/or Microsoft Azure, plus strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Professional English proficiency required; German, for example B2, is beneficial.
Nice to have
- Experience with HashiCorp Terraform, DataOps/MLOps, Unity Catalog, or workflow orchestration tools.
- Experience mentoring junior team members and supporting knowledge sharing.
